This year Blaxhall Community Festival’s theme is British birds – a chance to appreciate and. Over the weekend St Peter’s church will be filled with splendid flower arrangements inspired by our feathered friends, accompanied by music, readings and poetry to set hearts aflutter.
On the bill (!) are performances by Charlie Haylock, the Strumming Birds, Rosy Thornton – author of Sandlands, Heartbeat acapella and some Suffolk folk singers.
There is a display of watercolours by avian artist Ian Longhurst; a sale of plants from Katie’s Garden plant centre; expert guided tours identifying local flora and fauna; family activities and, of course, Blaxhall’s bakers’ hospitality – famous for their traditional cream teas and cakes.
Sunday 30th June at 3.30pm: The Circle of Friendship.
Join the flock on Sunday afternoon to create a circle around the church to celebrate friendship and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Everyone is welcome.
Funds raised go towards the restoration of the St Peter’s church tower to bring the bells back to Blaxhall.
