House Martin Support Suffolk would like to hear from homeowners, community groups , farmers & landowners with existing nesting house martins, who would be interested in free artificial nest cups.
House martins are currently in decline, and now red listed – due to factors such as lack of nest building materials (wet mud) and decline in insect prey, ultimately they need our help.
The project (House Martin Support Suffolk – HMSS) is putting up artificial nest cups ahead of their return to breed in spring 2025 funded by the National Landscape Sustainable Development Fund to boost existing colonies.
If you’d like to find out more about house martins, there is an upcoming webinar with Martin Tickler hosted by Suffolk Wildlife Trust on 5th Feb, or if you’d like a talk for your local group, or have any questions please get in touch.
