A brand-new series of online webinars is launching to upskill and empower local people in Suffolk. All members of the community wanting to make a difference for the environment in their area can attend for free.

The upcoming webinars will be hosted by the Suffolk Climate Change Partnership with guest speakers from organisations such as the National Grid and the Environment Agency. Over the course of 2025, nine webinars will explore topics within the three wider themes of power, planning and water.

Attendees will hear from industry experts about successful national and regional environmental projects. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions so local people will walk away with the knowledge and tools to take sustainable and meaningful action in their community.

Claire Ling, Community Support Officer at Suffolk Climate Change Partnership, said:

“Collaborative working is essential in facilitating and enabling local environment and climate action, so throughout 2025 the Suffolk Climate Change Partnership is delighted to be hosting a webinar series for community groups with large key organisations and stakeholders.

“Attending one or more of the series will enable shared understanding concerns and challenges, and the ability for groups to connect with the bigger picture.”

Jon Little, Co-founder of Beta Streets and January’s guest speaker, said:

“We are excited to be one of the Suffolk Climate Change Partnership’s first speakers. BetaStreets is a street design tool for anyone. It is simple to use and free for anyone in Suffolk. We hope that community groups can utilise it to develop ideas, understand existing issues and suggest improvements for their local area.”
