Nominations have opened for the annual award that recognises the amazing contributions of individuals, groups, and organisations in the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape.

The David Wood National Landscape Award celebrates the hard work and outstanding contributions by people to make the area an even better place for wildlife, communities, and visitors alike.

The Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape stretches from Kessingland in North Suffolk, down along the coast to the Stour Estuary in North Essex. The area is designated as a National Landscape because of its natural beauty and national importance.

Any person, group or organisation can be nominated for the award if you believe they have made an outstanding contribution to the National Landscape. It could be a wildlife advocate, a litter picker, an inspirational teacher, a stalwart volunteer, or a community group that does great work for the environment.

Last year’s winner was Jason Alexander, founder of Rubbish Walks and passionate recycling and litter campaigner, who has been a force for nature for inspiring people across Suffolk to tackle waste and littering in our beautiful countryside.

Nominations can be made online, and all nominations are welcome at www.coastandheath-NL.org.uk/awards. The closing date for nominations is Wednesday 12th June 2024.
