Join Wildlife Wise on an evening guided walk through one of our rarest and most threatened habitats.

Lowland Heathlands flourish on Suffolk’s nutrient-poor, acidic soils, which support rare birds, such as nightjar and woodlark, which nest on the ground.

This walk is very much tailored for the complete beginner who would like to learn more about heathland habitats and the birds and wildlife we share this wonderful wild open space with. You’ll also get the opportunity to meet the Rangers from the newly formed Wildlife Wise Team.

They cannot guarantee what you may see, but they hope to at least hear the elusive nightjar at dusk, weather permitting.

Due to the nature of this walk, which passes through habitats with ground-nesting birds, they wish to reduce disturbance as much as possible, so on this occasion, they ask that only assistance dogs join us. (Future dog walks in the area will be arranged.)
